Luncheon Speakers

Lisa Smartt Monday, March 31

Lisa loves to laugh! She lives with her husband, Philip, in rural West Tennessee farm country where she loves to cook and have company. (Feel free to plan a visit. Seriously! She will make biscuits.) Lisa travels around the country speaking about the joys and difficulties of the people business. She has written several books including a funny romantic fiction series called, “Doug and Carlie.” She has made a ton of mistakes and uses the painful lessons learned to encourage others. Philip and Lisa have two adult sons and two daughters-in-love. Her greatest desire is to love and encourage people with the love of Christ in the midst of a sometimes painful and difficult world.

Brooke Clay Taylor Tuesday, April 1

Born into a farming family, Brooke’s life has been a journey of leaps and resilience. Raised on a ranch in Oklahoma, she pursued higher education despite a guidance counselor’s doubts. With degrees in hand, Brooke built a career in strategic communications, working in cities from Charlotte to Nashville. After a fairy tale turned fiction, she returned to Oklahoma, launching Rural Gone Urban, a communications business supporting farmers and ranchers. Brooke has faced breast cancer twice, crediting her support system for her strength. She founded the Rural Gone Urban Foundation to help women overcome hurdles.
